UFL in Long Island?

March 27, 2008

I heard it through the grapevine that Charles Wang wants to bring the United Football League to Long Island, New York. Charles is co-founder of CA Inc., the computer software management company formerly known as Computer Associates. He also has experience in sports ownership as he is the owner of the New York Islanders pro hockey team and the New York Dragons arena football team. The question now is, where would a UFL team play, as far as I know, there is no stadium large enough to host them.

the red bulls (mls) are opening a new stadium in Harrison, NJ in 2009, which isn’t far from long island at all. if anything, they can always use Giants Stadium
